How long has the clothing company been going? How did it all start?

ICFN: ICFN has been running nearly 2 years now, back in the day I had £10 and an idea - go to Primark and buy white tees and put designs on them, that no other store or guy on the street would have.

I’m also a DJ in local clubs so I love tees and sneakers and always need more, so I setup “I Came From Nothing” to try and create unique and design led t-shirts, now the line has crewneck sweatshirts and zipper hoodies too.

What were your main goals when you first set out?

ICFN: To be unique.

Have you achieved or surpassed theses?

ICFN: 10 fold, the designs are all hand drawn and creative.

What message do your clothes give out?

ICFN: Be original and love design, don’t limit your ideas.

What is the ethos behind your company?

ICFN: To be affordable & ultra limited. Each design only has one print run (100 max) most are only 40 per design

How do you make sure you stand out from the crowd?

ICFN: With great ideas, quality and enough gore, goo and rule.

A Wilhelm Scream, live in Norfolk, VA

How do you come up with designs?

ICFN:
“I Came From Nothing” is the theme, from movies & pop culture, what is cool and came from nothing – zombies, creatures, the blob, chucky, things that go bump in the night.

Could you please explain the design process from idea to product shipment
:

ICFN: The idea is key, then sketch, ink work, add colour. Create mock-up, post on forum, get feedback, post pre sale, get printed then ship. Sweet

Do you feel band endorsements are key to getting you noticed?

ICFN: I have done some in the past, my new dudes are a great metal band in Indonesia “No Talent”
www.myspace.com/notalentnotalent  It’s great to have your name out there and on the scene.

Which of your current or past ranges has been most popular?

ICFN: Past range the ABE tee, which was a mock of A Bathing Ape, current range – it’s hard to say all the new designs are selling well, with a new design being added every month everyone has a new favourite.

Have you found anyone trying to copy your designs, if so what have you done about it?

ICFN: Yeah I have lol, hey its cool just sent a nicely worded message, but what can you do?

What would you say to people thinking about starting their own clothing range?

ICFN: Go for it, set your goals and put your heart and soul into it.

Anything they need to watch out for?

ICFN: Your target market. This will set what kind of tees and tee sizes you print. Rockers like a different fit to a Hip Hop dude.

Finally, plug your current range:

ICFN: Cheers, well the new range is growing every month, I’ve added sweat shirts and zipper hoodies. With wallets, belts & button packs coming soon.

New designs from guest artists too - J Shantz, OSS, Cryface Design and more.
